Guide to POTS

Hoping this makes a confusing chronic illness diagnosis easier

Shaking

Disclaimer: I am not a medical professional. I can only speak to my own experience and hope that gives you some insight into what POTS is and how it can affect you or the people around you.

What it feels like: weakness and unable to move in the way you want, very unsteady. At times it can be hard to write with a pen.

What causes it:

When you stand up and your blood pressure and blood volume drop your body responds by increasing your heart rate which is increased by your body producing more ephedrine and norephedrine. This is what causes the shakiness.

Solutions I’ve found:

Keep your blood pressure up, Liquid IV, LMNT, and lots of salt. When very shaky, lay down or rest.
